The
CFA was founded at Olympia in 1934 and exists in order to 'stimulate
and foster enthusiasm for reputable circus as a popular entertainment
and valuable part of British culture, to actively promote it and
to rigorously resist prejudice and threats to it, in conjunction
with others interested in quality circus'.

Services and activities by the CFA include: King Pole. The CFA publishes the circus magazine 'King Pole' up to five times per year. Each issue is A4 in size and includes both colour and black and white photographs to accompany news and reviews from the world of circus. Circusline. If you want to be able to find a circus in the UK this recorded message service should help. Information is updated every Monday. Merchandising. Circus programmes, books, models, posters & specially commissioned items are available through this service. |

Books. The CFA also publishes books on subjects such as circus posters and transport. Schools Service. The CFA wishes to support circus in any way that it can and produces a schools pack to support teachers and schools. The pack is produced by a teacher and supports the National Curriculum. |

Members can consult our library and mammoth archives of British Circus Memorabilia. There are Rallies to circuses where you can meet the performers and find out more about how the circus works. |

The coveted 'CFA Circus Awards' are presented each year having been voted for by members. The ACP/CFA Privilege Card provides you with free admission to circuses which are members of the Association of Circus Proprietors. |
