The CFA was founded at Olympia in 1934 and exists in order to 'stimulate and foster enthusiasm for reputable circus as a popular entertainment and valuable part of British culture, to actively promote it and to rigorously resist prejudice and threats to it, in conjunction with others interested in quality circus'.
Services and activities by the CFA include:
King Pole. The CFA publishes the circus magazine 'King Pole' up to five times per year. Each issue is A4 in size and includes both colour and black and white photographs to accompany news and reviews from the world of circus.

Merchandising. Circus programmes, books, models, posters and specially commissioned items are available through this service.
